Knowledge is in nostalgia.
Who has never lost himself does not own anything.
Pier Paolo Pasolini
Teatro della Yod is an independent theater company founded in 2022 by Gabriele Marcelli and Daniella de Panfilis.
Just as the yod is the archetype of every written letter, our theatre inaugurates the sign of a beginning rather than a destination. At the basis of our work is the history of the last century, an uninterrupted discourse whose threads can still be extended to our present. Memory and microhistory constitute the two main roads of our poetic investigation. Starting from these primary elements, we build works focused on a dialogue with the public. The diversity of uniqueness is at the center of each of our plays. This eternal flow, rethinking, and returning to tell what we have experienced suggest new horizons and sensitive topics for exchange and comparison. Without new reflection and reconciliation, there can be no growth and without growth, life, like theatre, becomes useless.
